My Family
I am married to Rob, a keen hunter, fisherman and station officer at our local fire brigade. During the week Rob works in the forestry, operating various heavy machinery.
In our spare time we also run a small agricultural contracting business in which we contract to numerous farmers in the Rai Valley/ Canvastown area, baling (and wrapping) large round bales of hay and baleage. Rob does the baling, I do the wrapping.
I have two children, Jordan (12) and Leah (10). Jordan is a keen musician, horse rider and hockey player. Leah is a keen farmer, also a skilled hockey player and loves to read! Both girls enjoy the outdoors and take every opportunity to give things a go!

Myself
My interests outside of the classroom include fishing, horse riding, photography, hockey, ICT, and spending time with my family.
We currently have three horses and one pony. Jordan and I are in the process of breaking in one of our youngsters after successfully breaking in her pony a couple of years ago. My old boy Chip (in photo) is due for retirement, so I also have another youngster to keep me busy in the years to come. We mainly ride for pleasure and at times enter the odd A & P Show or Show Jumping event.
I enjoy spending time out on the water be it boating, fishing or kayaking. We generally venture out from O'Kiwi Bay as it's only a short drive from home (I can't tell you anymore than that, as I'm bound by secrecy! wink wink).
Working with computers and in particular photography and videography has been a strong passion of mine over the years. I have entered in numerous competitions and even received placings. I enjoy dabbling in photography and have had the pleasure of being requested to do wedding photography for a number of couples. I'm mad on Apple Products and have a good collection which I use to capture and edit with. I'm always looking for new ways to integrate ICT into the class.
I play hockey for a Nelson Team as a casual. I am generally positioned as a half, meaning that I need to be fit to keep up with the play. Due to time constraints and my children now playing hockey, this has taken a bit of a back foot. I have trained to coach hockey and I generally assist with coaching one of the teams my kids play in.
